President’s Message January 2009
Dear Friends,


As we look to the beginning of this New Year, many changes are occurring in our professional and personal life. Change comes resulting in positive and negative outcomes depending upon the situation. We are encouraged to accept change and promote positive outcomes. Everyday in our surgical environments, change affects the delivery of care to our surgical patients. The update JCAHO Universal Protocol has brought new changes to our surgical process and environment. As perioperative nurses, we must adjust to these changes and unite our practice in the care of our surgical patients.

Please come to our monthly meetings the second Tuesday of each month. Check our website for updated information, aornmideastpa.org. Attend our chapter seminar on April 25th, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center and attain contact hours critical to maintaining your licensure and certification.

I am looking forward to our monthly meetings and the Safety Seminar that will be offered in April 2009 by our chapter.

Changes occur every day. Be positive about our chapter and change your participation and attendance at meetings this year. BE A CHANGE AGENT FOR YOURSELF, YOUR PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION AND FOR PERIOPERATIVE NURSING.
